Welcome to University Associates Women’s Hockey Club

At the University Associates Women’s Hockey Club (affectionately known as Uni Soaks Women), we believe hockey should be enjoyable, social, and sustainable for the long term. We love to compete and do our best on the field, but friendship, fun and staying connected to the game are what matter most.

Founded in 1987, the club grew from a group of former UWA Hockey Club women who wanted to continue playing after their peak competitive years. They recognised the importance of creating space for emerging players at UWAHC while ensuring there was still a welcoming place for women hockey players to remain involved in the sport they loved.

That original spirit remains at the heart of our club today. We continue to provide a supportive environment where women can stay involved in hockey, maintain lifelong friendships, and enjoy being part of the hockey community for many years beyond their student and elite playing days.

We have no formal selection or trial process. Our teams are largely self-managed groups of friends, with movement between teams each year based on fitness, playing preferences, and team needs. From time to time, places become available across our teams and we always welcome enquiries from women looking to return to hockey or continue playing in a supportive club environment.
